A campaign to demystify social prescribing and show that sometimes the best medicine isn’t medicine at all.

Project Description
Social prescribing treats the causes of poor health rather than just the symptoms. Someone struggling to sleep might need a debt advisor more than a sleeping tablet. Someone feeling depressed might need a community coffee morning more than antidepressants. The challenge was finding a clear, friendly way to explain the idea to people who weren’t familiar with the term.

The illustration system grew directly from that insight, figures, conditions and solutions that can be mixed and matched to show how many different combinations of person and circumstance social prescribing can reach. Friendly, non-clinical, inclusive and designed to work across digital and print formats.

The tagline “More Than Medicine” was developed as part of the campaign and was adopted by the GP Care Group as an ongoing positioning line. The campaign was well received by residents and health partners across Tower Hamlets.
